Choices is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use trychoices.app, including the Choices Network and PM Engine.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account Information
Email address, profile photo, and authentication credentials (managed by Clerk).
1.2 Profile Information
Name, role, location, skills, current projects, bio, what you're looking for, and optional LinkedIn URL — collected during onboarding.
1.3 PM Engine Data
- Product ideas, project descriptions, execution plans, feature specs/PRDs, tasks, and acceptance criteria
- Uploaded files (PDF, DOCX, TXT, PNG, JPG, CSV) for AI evidence analysis
- Interview transcripts, analytics CSV data, and URLs submitted for competitor crawling
1.4 Communications
Messages sent to other users (encrypted), contact form submissions, and support inquiries.
1.5 Voice Data
Voice recordings during voice onboarding are processed by ElevenLabs in real time and are not permanently stored by Choices.
1.6 Billing Data
Subscription plan, Stripe customer ID, and billing status. We do not store credit card numbers or bank account details — Stripe handles all payment processing.
1.7 Automatically Collected
Usage data, browser type, device information, IP address, and cookies.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Account & Profiles: Create and manage your account, display your profile, facilitate connections
- AI Matching: Generate profile summaries, provide intelligent matching, parse search queries
- PM Engine: Generate execution plans, PRDs, task breakdowns; cluster evidence into ranked insights; perform web research
- Voice Briefs: Generate AI podcast scripts and audio from project data
- Execution Bridge: Match builders to project tasks based on skills and compatibility
- Communications: Send emails, match notifications, and message alerts via Resend
- Billing: Process payments and manage subscriptions via Stripe
- Improvement & Safety: Analyze usage, fix bugs, develop features, prevent abuse
4. Data Security
- All direct messages are encrypted before storage
- Authentication managed by Clerk with industry-standard practices
- Supabase provides encrypted storage and secure access controls
- All data transmission encrypted via HTTPS
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. Your Privacy Rights
5.1 Access and Control
You can view and edit your profile, adjust privacy settings (message privacy, read receipts, email notifications), download your data by contacting us, and delete your account and associated data.
5.2 Communication Preferences
Opt out of non-essential emails via your notification settings or by clicking “unsubscribe” in our emails.
6. File Uploads & Evidence Data
- Accepted types: PDF, DOCX, TXT, PNG, JPG, CSV
- Processed by AI for text extraction, UI analysis, and analytics parsing
- Stored in Supabase Storage, tied to your project — deletable at any time
- We do not use uploaded files for AI model training
7. AI and Automated Decision-Making
Our AI processes your data to generate profile summaries, match you with users, validate ideas, cluster evidence, generate PRDs and tasks, and match builders to project tasks. All AI outputs are suggestions — you retain full editorial control and can edit or reject any AI-generated content.
8. Data Retention
We retain your data while your account is active. After deletion:
- Profile and PM data deleted within 30 days
- Messages may remain in encrypted form for the other participant
- Anonymized analytics may be retained indefinitely
- Backups may persist for up to 90 days
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy periodically. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
